The prophet of the Muslims, Muhammad told them to acquire knowledge even if they have to go to China and knowledge should be acquired from anyone and everyone who is knowledgeable. Here it is understandable that China in those days was definitely not the hub of theological knowledge, but it was then well-known for its business. What is more, is the fact that a person can not expect to receive religious education (Islamic in particular) from atheists or polytheists.
