For a better part of the 20th century, there were numerous cases of discrimination against the black man. In his book Existence in Black: an anthology of Black existential philosophy, Gordon (1997, p.52) says there used to be a stereotypical idea that had been set by the society about the black man. The black man was looked at as being very aggressive, lazy and did not have any substance left in him.
