Darkness at Noon is perhaps one of the most famous novels that have ever been written and this novel is the creation of Arthur Koestler, who was a Hungarian-born British novelist. He is first cast out and then later on he is put in prison  Moving on he is put on trial by the same Soviet government for which he has worked so hard and helped construct.  The setting of the book is in the year 1938, while the Stalinist purges as well as the Moscow show trials are going on. The book is extremely informative to judge the differences that existed between the author and communism and the destruction of the revolution that was brought about by Stalin. In the book, it is interesting to note that although all the characters have Russian names, neither Russia nor the Soviet Union have actually been mentioned by name as the actual setting of the book by the author. Also, Joseph Stalin has been said to be a menacing totalitarian leader by the author .
