The Muslims believe that when the first man that is Adam was created God told all of the angels to bow down in front of him and all of them obeyed God’s command except Satan saying that Adam was made out of clay and he was made of fire. The other angels however looked at this command in a different perspective and bowed down and then in the Quran God says, ““And he taught Adam all the names, then presented them to the angels; then He said: Tell me the names of those if you are right. They said: Glory be to thee! We have no knowledge but that which Thou hast taught us; surely Thou art the knowing, the wise. He said: O Adam! Inform them of their names. Then when he had informed them of their names, He said: Did I not say to you that I surely know what is ghaib in the heavens and the earth and (that) I know what you manifest and what you hide? And when We said to the angels: Make obeisance to Adam they did obeisance but Iblis (did it not). He refused and he was proud and he was one of the unbelievers.”(The importance of education in Islam (a), p.1) The basic point here is that God TAUGHT Adam and gave him knowledge, which shows just how necessary Islam believes education is.
The Islamic Realm was perhaps the most complex and the most cultured nation in the entire world for nearly 1,000. This was because of the fact that the religion Islam stresses upon the importance as well as the value of education, forbade annihilation, and then developed in its followers the high opinion for authority, restraint, and forbearance of all the other religions that exist in the world. The teachings that were acquired from the Quran as well as the lives of the prophets influenced the Muslims in such a way that they made a vast number of achievements in science and medicine as well. By the time that the tenth century was around, the passion and enthusiasms of the Muslims for education resulted in the translation of all vital Greek medical and scientific writings into Arabic in Damascus, Cairo, and Baghdad. Arabic turned in to the international language for education and international relations.
